Lily's Guide to Quarantine Workouts
For those of you who don’t know, I LOVE all things fitness. It is my peace and quiet, and the space that I need during the day to clear my head. During quarantine, I quickly realized that it is actually much easier to work out from home than I originally thought.
I admit, I have a habit of going to $$$ workout classes daily. So this was a big eye-opener for me! Now, it is easier to access my favorite instructors from home, as well as being able to train with trainers across the country (virtually!). Here is a list of my top 4 workouts.
Level: Advanced
Everyone listen up! Rachel Robinson is the real deal! Not only is she one of the best instructors at Barrys Miami (also-not to mention the best instructor I’ve ever taken at any Barrys location…), she has seriously transformed the way of virtual training. She has incorporated her own flare to all of the traditional Barrys classes, and does so every morning at 8:30 EST via IG live. If you want to start Rachel’s classes, I highly recommend having your own weights, booty bands, and a large space to be able to move around! This is the best workout if you want heavy weight training, as well as intense cardio bursts. Love Rachel!
Level: Advanced
Danny is a L.A. based personal trainer that I discovered through Revolve’s IGTV during quarantine. After my first (virtual) class with Danny, I was hooked! Not only are the girls that he works with FABULOUS, but he is also understanding that his workouts are tough and will often give slight adjustments to make it suitable for all skill-levels. His workouts are usually quick (30-35 mins) and will without a doubt make you sweat! If you like quick circuit-type interval workouts, Danny is for you!
3. @hotpilates
Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Pilates is my go-to workout (and what I do most often when studios are open!). Hot Pilates is also out of L.A., and was always on my bucket-list to try. Now, it is easier than ever from across the country to get the burn in! They go live everyday (multiple times), but if you’re like me and don’t live on PST, it can be quite complicated to interact with them throughout the day. Luckily, they save all of their IG lives on their IGTV so you can always re-visit later! They also have multiple instructors who teach daily which gives a great variation of different moves!
Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Lindsey’s workouts are the perfect mix of upper body and lower body focus. She posts daily, and I have never been let down with one of her workouts! Her workouts are definitely focused more towards the younger crowd, with her daily colorful workout clothes and bright setting, but non-the-less she definitely gets the job done! Her workouts are also a bit longer than most of the other ones that I have mentioned so keep that in mind as well.
I am also linking below my favorite at home training necessities! These items are all you will need for the workouts above.
